I grabbed my coat from the back seat which, unfortunately, wasn't a rain coat, picked up my hand bag and got out of the car, locking it behind me then set off, past the old gate, which looked as though it had not been closed for years and along the drive, the rain was lashing against my face and the wind blowing it into every space it could find, almost knocking me over it was so strong. It stopped alongside me
